Either-Or (Ether-Oar)

Either-Or (Ether-Oar).JPG

Ever since I was a child so mild
I was given a choice of either or
But I chose both as my folklore
Being as it may seem, it was satisfactory
Until the day people told me it was a refractory
But I just shrugged it off in apathy
Years have since passed and still I’m given a task
To make a choice of either or
Yet, instead of taking direction
I’ve accepted his erection
Of the colossal infrastructure
Which seems rather lackluster
For it’s built on themes of power and prestige
Rather than dreams of subservient pastiche
And if the ‘servant is your master’
As Sting would so endearingly blaster
Then it’s no wonder I’m so indecisive
In my quest to become derisive
For the answer is blowing in the wind
Yes, it’s up in the ether
And if I have no oar (as R.E.O. Speed wagon suggested I should throw away)
I cannot steer clear from my own fear
Therefore, the furnace burns contained
Maybe my light is hiding under a bushel
But when the bush catches fire
I won’t be a bird on a wire
My love spreads like a wildfire
Even as I wait in the mire
Because, with the sweat of my brow,
I continue to plough
So as to plant seeds while I proofread

About bognetta

Love has been so much more powerful than other people's control. I think it's all love, but sometimes it doesn't feel like love. That is because so many people are defensive, protective, and do not care to trust in that four letter word...love!
