Kicking the Can

889.Kicking the Can (Hot Flying Saw Blade)

There are no Jones’ to keep up with
Only Davy Jones’ locker
So the next time you want to upgrade
Think how it possibly degrades
Since we throw everything away
And recycle or repair the fray
We never can make up our minds
As we gather and treasure the finds
Constantly changing our appearance
To maintain a status of disappearance
Yes, we’re not seen as much as we think
In fact we can leave behind the kitchen sink
No matter if it rains or pours
We all get through those kitchen doors
And find comfort in all the foods
Whether soul, organic, or TV dinner goods
And we’re trying the best we can
To enjoy each moment of life span
No matter how weary or tough
We get to a point we’ve had enough
We secretly hide all our aches and pains
To get by through painstaking gains
Constantly on the lookout for happiness
Always in pursuit without crappiness
Many times we pull it off without a hitch
But most of time, we only bitch
And moan, groan, and tell everybody
Just so we can live our lives and be somebody
But it really isn’t as hard as all that
We fool ourselves as we take to bat
Because we make homeruns all the time
All the while we stop on a dime
If I ruin my life and feel humiliated
It was due my striving exonerated
But if I hold my life up as a victory
Then I’ve won the crown-it’s my dictionary
Because with all that we do and all that we make
It’s not for the praise or accolades of our fallen cake
No. It is much more than that. It’s the ‘E’ for effort, man
It’s for the sake of kicking the can
Such a fond ad lovely childhood game
Much better than dodgeball, but it’s all the same
And I’d rather be a player than anything
Because it’s winning just to be here, Ding-a-Ling!
Now before I get insulting I’d better run
Since that’s the only way I have fun!
And the rain stopped, Thank God!
But I would sing anyways – so long!

About bognetta

Love has been so much more powerful than other people's control. I think it's all love, but sometimes it doesn't feel like love. That is because so many people are defensive, protective, and do not care to trust in that four letter!
