Drinking Him In

Drinking Him In

Drinking Him In

Whenever I drink
I forget how to think
And then it may seem
I live only to dream

He sure got me drunk
I could tell – I just stunk
But he did not take advantage
Yet my heart needed a big bandage

For after getting up so high
I made believe I could fly
So I tried out my new wings
And I crashed among the swings

Just knowing I’m still alive
Has only made us cry
He thought I’d try once more
But my feet had hit the floor

Exciting were the days around him
He made my world start to spin
Even with a buzz, I get dizzy
I should not drink – I get too tipsy

The effects are wearing off
And we’re sober not to scoff
Just a mirror of the other
Plainly loving – not to smother

About bognetta

Love has been so much more powerful than other people's control. I think it's all love, but sometimes it doesn't feel like love. That is because so many people are defensive, protective, and do not care to trust in that four letter word...love!
