Not Drifting on Magic Carpet
Feel like your life is rotting away?
Slaving away day out and day in?
Well, even if confined to stay where you’re put
Always remember to lead with your foot
Keep on steppin’ in happy beat
I know it’s not easy when still are your feet
But keep on moving if only in head
That way we could not feel all else’s dread
Counting the minutes as life passed you by
Believe to be cheerful – a wonderful LIE
But when you are focused with something to write
Your mind can’t stay stuck – Never ending the fight
Through words that we write in the dull inbetween
We soon come to know all that is unseen
We’re not drifting on a magic carpet
It’s basic and smart, so please don’t you knock it!
The only way one could become frust-er-ated
Is if they stay still – all the minutes rated
“I could have done that” or “I could have done this”
Forgetting how boredom is some peaceful bliss
