Boy in the Garden
One came to a garden in which was not his.
He picked beautiful flowers and was exhilarated by their fragrance.
Yet, realizing that he had picked them from a neighbor’s garden,
He chose to let them fall to the ground instead of caring enough to put them in a vase
The flowers did die, but the seeds from them were scattered by the wind.
It’s taken a long time, but new flowers started to grow.
They remain far away from the boy who let them fall.
He may never be able to find such a rare variety of blossom
And he may also never be pleased by their sweet aroma again.
For if you pick from another’s garden and leave the picked fruits
Of which you so enjoyed, the seeds remember from whence they were wrought.
The wind knows to blow the seeds onto a safer region of more fertile soil
So that they may once again grow…safe from the hands of such
A wasteful boy!
